 Introduction to the ULS Lasers

Exploring the basic science behind this amazing technological achievement in a fun and exciting one hour introduction that allows you to safely control laser beams!

Come in with an idea, leave with something you made and the knowledge of how to use one of the most versatile machines in The Shop.

This class gives the basic understanding of our Universal Laser Systems VLS4.60 and will teach the proper procedures for Safety and Basic Use

High Speed Laser Production on the Trotec Speedy 300

For Prototyping, or for Production work, the Trotec Speedy is sometimes the way to go. This class builds on your Laser Introduction class.   Some of the advantages of the Trotec over other lasers are:  300% faster Rastering speed. Smaller Kerf size (smaller focus)- Greater detail Large Color mapping library Faster cutting times  We'll also cover a few techniques to Speed up your Jobs in Job Control. This class will basically follow a "Quick-Start" guide, and will flesh out the basics in more detail.

Rotary Tool for the Trotec Speedy 300

Description:For Prototyping, or for Production work, the Trotec Speedy 300 is the way to go.   This class builds on your Laser Introduction Class and the High Speed Production Trotec Class.   Some of the advantages of the Trotec Rotary Tool over other lasers are:  Greater Precision Rotary Tool Smaller Kerf size (smaller focus)- Greater detail Large Color mapping library Faster cutting times  This class will basically follow a "Quick-Start" guide for the Rotary Attachment, and will flesh out the basics in more detail.

Introduction to the Fiber Marking Laser

Wanna mark metal? Get a variety of markings from light to dark by changing the surface refraction of Steel and Aluminium.

Learn to use a completely different type of Laser with our ULS PLS Fiber Marking Laser

Each metal has slightly different materials properties, so please bring a sample of your material if you want exact settings.

This class gives the basic understanding of how to safely use Laser #7

Rotary Tool for the ULS Lasers

Learn to use the Rotary Tool to etch glasses, mugs, dowels and rods.

A little bit of math, some extra setup steps and you are ready to spin round objects inside the VLS4.60 Laser machines.

This class enables reserving our Rotary Tool attachment for the Universal Laser Systems VLS4.60 and will teach the proper procedures for Safety and Basic Use of our ULS Chuck Rotary Attachment.

Irregular Materials Signoff

Do you have something that you have never cut before, want to know if it's safe?

Come learn how to read a Material Safety Data Sheet, do simple materials testing, Gauge reflective surfaces, control your smoke and control the damage often cause by Irregular Materials

This class is required for any material not found in the Materials Database for the Universal VLS4.60
