Great question! The lense is always cleaned at the end of the night and usually at least once throughout the day by staff. The top and bottom tracks of the x and y tracks are cleaned and oiled once a week, usually on Monday since weekends see a lot of time on that laser. In general, since it’s generally used by folks who have more laser experience, and because it has an impressive amount of internal air flow, it never accumulates the levels of dust / debris that the universals can see after only a few passes.
One area I think we could improve on as both staff and members is the accumulation of material that falls through the honeycomb table. That said, to the best of my knowledge that hasn’t caused any noticable problems (but always best to address it before it gets to that point).
I hope that answers your question.
At the RWC TechShop 1.0 location, the Fusion 120W was to be cleaned by one of the TC personnel. The laser was not cleaned as frequently and at the end of some days there were some issues with cut quality because of this. Of course, you could always asked to get everything cleaned.
What is the cleaning system like for the Fusion 120W at the SF location?
