3D printers are an excellent tool for turning digital 3D art and designs into physical objects, for prototyping parts, and exploring geometries and forms.  The Go Big 3D printer is a scaled-up version of these typically desktop-sized machines, with a 2'x2'x2' build volume—enough space to print an entire costume helmet or a large vase, for example.

This class will teach you the basics necessary to safely operate and maintain the Go Big 3D printer, and how to use the necessary softwares to transfer your 3D designs to the printer. We will cover physical aspects of the machine's operations, like changing filament and nozzles, cleaning and leveling the print bed, and using the built-in LCD screen and SD card reader. We will also cover software operation of the machine, including the most typically changed slicing settings, how to use predefined Cura slicing profiles together with OctoPrint (the printer's software), and how to connect to and control the printer with OctoPrint.

Course length is 1 hour.
