This is the second of a two-part series on the TRAK lathe, which earns users access to the machine in CNC mode. The TRAK lathe is a turning machine capable of operation in both manual and CNC modes. It is powerful and easy to use with a variety of tooling, and is capable of repeatably and efficiently producing very complex parts. This course is intended to teach CNC proficiency and some advanced machining theory. Users will walk away with a finished part of our design, the same as from the manual proficiency class, but completed entirely in the CNC mode to illustrate the similarities and differences between the two modes.
This class covers safety and operation of the TRAK lathe in TRAKing and CNC modes, including setting, editing, and saving tools, writing of simple programs, verification of tool paths and part simulations, using machine overrides, and adjusting offsets and programs.
Course length is 2.5 hours. Material provided.
